Barrack Obama is not the Messiah. He is not the Second Coming of Christ. He is not the Savior of Mankind. He is just a man. Just like you. Just like me. He is human and he is, like the rest of us, flawed. He will make mistakes and through the course of his presidency he will probably be forced to break a few promises or make some choices you don't agree with. Just like every president before him. When this happens and you feel a sense of righteous indignation boiling up inside of you, remember this: You're the one who put him on a pedestal. You're the one who refused to speak up until public opinion was on your side, or worse yet - until the media told you to do so. You're the one who is expecting Barrack Obama to fix your problems. Sorry, that's not how it works. Fix your own problems. Take responsibility for your actions. Accept the consequences of your choices. If you do these things and the guy in the White House is still throwing a monkey wrench into your life remember that you have a voice, you can learn your rights, and if you still disagree with the way things go you have another vote in four years.
Sincerely, James M. Spahn |

Oh, & fwiw, I agree with your post for the most part. Part of me wonders if other parties aren't assisting in the building up Obama just so he topples that much easily later. But thats probably just mostly conspiracy theory. :)
See, I tend to agree.
Great icon, btw.
What brought this on?
At this point all I want from Obama is compotent government that doesn't make us look like warcriminals. Also not having the market tank every so often would be nice also.
My job at Walmart is making me bitter. When I see them marketing pictures of Jesus Christ next to pictures of Barrack Obama, I get pissed. They're marketing to the same people who haven't been taught the basic skills to function in our society. Simple things that you and I take for granted, like "Wear a tie to a job interview." Basic, simple shit. And it's these same people who have been fed a mixture of media streams and culture that tells them they're entitled to everything, even if they've learned nothing that makes me angry. Because entitlement, regardless of what you know or don't know, drives me shithouse. Everyone is entitled to three hot meals, basic medical care, and the right to pursue their dreams - but unfortunately our society doesn't work that way.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm sick of those in power lying to those who have no power by saying Barrack Obama is going to come along with ultimate power and wave his wand of power and make it all better at 12:01 on January 20th.
I've heard Wal-mart has that effect on people.
The only people I've ever heard say that Barack was the second coming or something similar were right-wingers who want to make Barack look ludicrous. I've listen to Barack speak, what he brings is a renewed sense of optimism, which doesn't play well in these days.
Although I can't tell if putting the two pictures next to each other is a real belief or some sort of cynical joke.
Out of everyone who ended up running in the final election, I felt Obama had the best mindset for the job. McCain (and to a point Clinton)was too rigid in their thinking, and let's face it Palin would have been a disaster. | |
